The Diamond Trust Bank on Friday opened its 54th branch in Embu, as it embarks on a major expansion plan to widen its reach to customers in the counties.
The bank’s head of branches and alternate channels, Mr George Otiende, said that lender intends to open five more branches this year to help more customers access their services.
Speaking during the opening ceremony presided over by Embu County Finance CEC John Njagi, Mr Otiende said economic indicators show that Embu is one of the fastest-growing towns and needs more banking services.
He said DTB has tailor-made services that would appeal to everyone, especially business people.
“The business community in Embu has been growing over the last three years.
“We have many customers who have had to travel to Meru or Thika. Being a business bank, we must be near the people,” said Mr Otiende.
