Donate sheep to Kenyatta family, Jubilee pleads with Kenyans

Co-Op post

The Jubilee Party that is associated with former president Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Kenyans of good will to donate sheep to the Kenyatta family farm, Northlands.

This appeal was announced by Jeremiah Kioni who is currently leading the party’s affairs. Kioni also announced that a tree planting event will be held at the Northlands farm on April 15, 2023.

“We have requested Kenyans to donate goats and sheep and you would be surprised by the number of people who are willing to provide them – not that they can replace the 1,000 animals that were slaughtered but just to let you know the way things are done,” Kioni who is the Jubilee Secretary General told a local media house.

This follows an invasion of the farm that took place on March 27 and which saw people steal sheep worth millions of money. The farm also suffered damages that included cut trees.

The invasion occurred on the day the opposition coalition Azimio led by former prime minister Raila Odinga was holding protests in Nairobi over the 2022 General Elections outcome.

It was however not clear if Kioni’s call for donations had been approved by Kenyatta family. Kioni was nonetheless quick to point out that the donations would not be compensation for the stolen sheep, but rather a token of support to the Kenyattas.
