As cases of Kenyans seeking to travel to Canada on visit visas to seek asylum under the guise of tourism continue to rise, more and more travelers are either being denied boarding at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or are being returned back to Kenya from international layover spots.
One Kenyan has been living this nightmare after being turned back to Kenya twice in two different countries. The Kenyan shared that she was first denied boarding at the JKIA. When she finally managed to go through, she was kicked back to Kenya in Dubai. Last week, she made a fresh attempt to travel.
Although she successfully managed to board and fly out of JKIA, her flight was cut short at Bole International Airport in Ethiopia.
“Last month I was turned back while in Dubai. I tried o fly out again this week via Ethiopian Airlines. Upon arriving at Bole International Airport, I was stopped and turned back to Kenya,” she said.
“They said I needed to get clearance from the Canadian embassy in Nairobi. How do I go about it since I am too depressed to cope?”
