The Ministry of Education has announced the official dates for school opening for the first term of 2024.

In a statement on Christmas day, the Ministry said that pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will resume learning on January 8, 2024.

“It is instructive that Early Childhood Development, Primary and Secondary Schools will open for commencement of the first term studies on January 8th, 2024, except for Form one students who will report to their institutions on January 15th 2024,” reads the statement in part.

According to the 2024 school calendar, the first term will have 13 weeks, the second term 14 weeks, and the third term nine weeks.

Term one will start on January 8, 2024, and close on April 8, 2024. Learners will take a 3-day half-term break from February 29 to March 3.
