Prestigious universities where Equity Bank is sponsoring top-performing students

Some 82 students under the Equity Leadership Program (ELP)are set to be admitted to some of the top global universities after successfully securing scholarships from Equity Bank.

The 82 scholars have secured admissions to international universities on different continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

As part of the scholarship package, undergraduate students will each get an airlift token of Sh200,000 to support their transition.

Equity Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. James Mwangi noted that the scholarships for the four-year duration of their (scholars) studies will cost the lender Sh2.8 billion.

The Equity Leadership Program is an Equity Group Foundation initiative that was established in 1998 as a rigorous leadership development program for top-performing Kenyan students.

The scholars are exposed to a high-performing environment and are taught the values of hard work, work ethics, customer service, communication skills, integrity, and professionalism.

With this year’s admissions, a total of 970 students have successfully received admission to prestigious universities on fully funded scholarships.

This intake includes 13 students who will be joining Ivy League Universities including Brown University (1), Columbia University (1), Harvard University (4), Princeton University (2), Cornell (1), and University of Pennsylvania (4).

Each year, Equity Bank develops a selection criteria for new scholars based on various factors including general KSCE performance, distribution of Equity Bank Branches, the performance of graduating Wings to Fly scholars, and performance categories i.e. top nationally, top in county and top in sub-county
