Ethiopian Airlines has introduced a new Boeing 737-800 jet for VIP and charter flights to its fleet.
The airline says that its newly introduced Boeing 737-800 Business Jet is designed to offer an exceptional travel experience with its spacious and luxurious cabin, featuring premium seating and elegant interiors for maximum comfort.
“Its customized seating arrangement with 19 for commercial operation and 32 for private operation ensures an exclusive and intimate atmosphere, accommodating a select number of passengers,” the airline said in a statement.
“Prioritizing privacy and security, the aircraft is an ideal choice for business executives, government officials, and high-profile travelers. Passengers can also enjoy state-of-the-art in-flight amenities, including an advanced entertainment system displaying on up to 42” monitors, Wi-Fi connectivity, and premium onboard dining tailored to their preferences.”
The move comes as the airline seeks to tap into the niche market of corporate leaders, diplomats, and private travelers.
“As Africa’s leading carrier, we are always looking for ways to enhance our offerings and meet the unique demands of our diverse clientele. With the addition of this Boeing 737-800 Business Jet, we are elevating our charter service to new heights, ensuring that our customers enjoy unparalleled luxury, convenience, and world-class service. This is yet another step in our commitment to fostering business and investment opportunities across Africa and beyond,” said Ethiopian Airlines Group chief executive officer Mr. Mesfin Tasew.
The airline has been growing its fleet and expanding its routes over the past few months. In November last year, its in-service fleet has inched closer to surpassing the 150 milestone following the arrival of the coveted A350-1000 aircraft. Ethiopian Airlines became the first airline in Africa to own the brand new aircraft in Africa.
