Ethiopian Airlines has banned the West African bags popularly known as Naija bags or Ghana Must Go bags.
The bags will no no longer be accepted as the airline says they are a danger to airport security. Ethiopia Airlines says that the ban was introduced because of the frequent occurrence of damages to the conveyor belts at various airports, resulting in significant costs incurred by the airlines involved.
Ethiopian Airlines is not the only airline that has imposed a ban on the popular bags. In 2017, Air France and KLM imposed a ban on the bags.

The two airlines said that the bags had a tendency of unraveling and jamming the baggage delivery systems.
The bags are also not accepted at airports in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
