Send me to jail as fast as possible, killer Evans Karani tells judge

Evans Karani Murder Case: Evans Karani the man accused of murdering Catherine Nyokabi shocked many when he made a virtual court appearance on Monday, April, 19. Karani asked the judge if it would be possible for him to be given a speedy sentencing so that he could go to jail.

“I’d like to ask that be sentenced and sent to jail as fast as possible so that I can begin serving my time,” Karani told Magistrate Oscar Wanyaga.

The judge ordered that he remains in custody for a period of 14 days pending investigations. The case will come up for mentioning on May 3.

Karani, 38, is said to have been in a relationship with Nyokabi. He resulted to killing Nyokabi after she jilted him. “The fight is said to be about Nyokabi’s social media post of a male companion. Karani demanded to know who he was. This heated argument deteriorated into a physical assault and eventually brutal murder,” one report said.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Karani attempted to discard Nyokabi’s body, but his car got stuck in mud on Bob Harris road in Juja. Karani fled the scene leaving the car with the body inside. Evans Karani Murder Case.
