The cost of doing business in Kenya is becoming unbearable given the increased taxation and regulatory compliances that come with fees.
The situation has seen some prominent companies face liquidation as they struggle to maintain profitability amid increasing operational costs and competitive pressures.
Among the companies that have been hit hard are Copia, Copius, Sendy, Â iProcure, Savannah Cement, Kansai Coatings, and Mobius, among others.
Engineer Evans Kimori a leadership and governance expert now says that there is no business in Kenya worth Sh2 million that can give Sh50,000 in profit per month.
Speaking to Dr. King’ori, Kimori attributed the tough business environment in Kenya to the high level of corruption in the country.
”I am here to confirm that no business can give you 50k profit due to the corrupt state of our country because money is not circulating efficiently,’’ he stated.

His sentiments have, however, received backlash from Kenyans, with some claiming that there are businesses that give more than Sh50,000 in profit per month.
