Eve Mungai: How I lost Sh200,000 goods to robbers posing as clients

Content creator Eve Mungai has opened up about how unknown individuals broke into her house in Kilimani and took away items worth Sh200,000.

Mungai revealed the two individuals booked the Airbnb facility for one night, claiming they were heading to the airport the following day, before making off with the valuables.

In a video footage shared on social media, two individuals, a man, and a woman, were seen walking out of the apartment carrying two heavy suitcases and a bag.

“Most of you misunderstood the information; we were robbed in one of the apartments we run as an Airbnb,” Mungai explained.

“Somebody who is an agent, who has been giving me clients, called and informed me about a client who was going to spend only a night. Usually, I never accept one-night clients, but because it was this agent who had recommended them, I said yes,” she added.

The two allegedly vandalized the apartment before stealing the goods. Mungai reported the incident to the police and pledged to pursue the matter until its resolution.

She later found out that the individuals behind the robbery had been engaging in similar activities since May 2022. Mungai warned Airbnb owners to be cautious about who they rent their property to.
