Ex-IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba named new Communications Authority boss

Former IEBC chief executive officer Ezra Chiloba has been appointed as the new Director General at the Communications Authority.

Ezra Chiloba will take over from Francis Wangusi. He will serve in the position for a period of four years. According to a statement by the authority’s Board chairman Kembi Gitura, Chiloba’s appointment was the result of a competitive recruitment process that followed the retirement Wangusi.

“The Board wishes to thank Mercy Wanjau, who has been acting in the position of Director-General of the Authority. Chiloba’s appointment takes effect immediately,” said in the statement. Chiloba was ousted from the electoral agency in 2018 after he was found culpable of accusation arising from an internal audit report on major procurement during the 2017 polls.

Chiloba holds an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Arts degree from Central European University in Hungary and a Master of Science degree in Program Management from University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

A post graduate diploma In law holder from the Kenya School of Law, Chiloba also holds a certificate in Blockchain strategy program from Said Business School at University of Oxford.

He holds further training in Corporate Governance, Projects Management, Collaborative Leadership and in Monitoring and Evaluation.
