Migori. NCBA hosted over 100 small and medium enterprise (SMEs) customers at an exclusive customer engagement dinner in Migori. The event highlighted NCBA’s commitment to supporting SMEs through tailored banking solutions and strategic collaborations to foster a thriving business environment in Migori and beyond.
Key stakeholders in Migori County were present at the forum, including Dr. Betty Mogesi Samburu, CECM, Trade and Tourism, Migori County Government; and Byron Noel Otieno, Project Field Officer at KNCCI Migori Chapter. They shared valuable insights on opportunities to develop SMEs in the region, emphasised the importance of public-private cooperation, discussed funding availability, and the development of entrepreneurial capacities.

At NCBA, we have established partnerships with like-minded institutions like the one we have with Strathmore University for our Owners Management Program, and Enterprise Development Programs, to support SME owners in running their businesses.

In the 2023/2024 financial year, Migori County contributed an average of 1.2 percent to the country’s Gross Value Added (GVA), with a GVA of KSH 90,946.4 million and a per capita GVA of KSH 81,463.92. The county recorded an average GVA growth rate of 4.54 per cent from 2013 to 2022, higher than the national average of 4.37 per cent.
The services sector is dominant in Migori County with an average contribution to GVA of 49.66 percent. The agriculture sector is second, contributing an average of 36.29 percent to the GVA while the industry sector contributes about 14.21 percent.
