A form three student is on the run after hammering a three-inch nail on the head of his principal. The student hammered the nail after he was sent home over Sh. 7,000 fees balance.

The principal, Mr. Rono of Ainamoi Secondary School, was hit by the form three student in his office around 6:00pm on Wednesday.

The student had earlier together with others  been send home for school fees an action that irked the form three boy. He later returned to school armed with a crude weapon and knocked at the Principal’s office who was in at that time. The Principal called for help and the bursar immediately came for his help all the time the boy had disappeared into thin air. The Principal was rushed to hospital.

The student was sent home barely a day after Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha instructed headteachers to send children whose parents have not paid fees balance home. Magoha had said that it had become clear that parents were refusing to pay fees for the kids’ third term even though they can afford to pay.

“Our population is a very interesting one. The majority of people not paying fees can afford to pay. I am requesting parents, who are still refusing to pay, to pay the fees without further delays,” Magoha had said.
