Former KCB CEO Martin Oduor back at EABL board

Former KCB Group CEO Martin Oduor-Otieno has started a second stint as a non-executive director at East African Breweries. Mr. Oduor-Otieno rejoined EABL after a six month break he took following his appointment as a partner at Deloitte East Africa.
“The Board of EABL is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Oduor-Otieno as a non-executive director of the board effective May 24,” said the brewer’s chairman Charles Muchene in a statement.
The former banker was first appointed an EABL director in February 2013, but he quit after six months when Deloitte enlisted him as a partner to offer advisory services in the financial sector.
Oduor-Otieno was among the ‘dream team’ of six selected by retired President Daniel arap Moi to lead the turn-around of the economy in 1999. He was appointed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance before taking up the leadership of KCB Group – now Kenya’s most profitable lender and the biggest by asset-base, then operating as Kenya Commercial Bank.
