Francis Gachuri quits Citizen Tv to work for CS Kindiki

Francis Gachuri has quit his job at Royal Media Services’ Citizen Tv. The journalist has quit to join the Ministry of Interior where he will be the head of communications.

At Citizen Tv, Gachuri has been holding the position of Political Editor. He was the moderator in the 2022 General Elections’ Deputy Presidential Debate.

Reports say that Gachuri was appointed by Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as the Head of Communications at the ministry.

Gachuri has been one of the finest television journalists at Royal Media. He has hosted news, and political shows on Citizen Tv and vernacular television station Inooro Tv which is owned by Royal Media Services.

Gachuri has also been a panelist on the News Gang show that is hosted on Citizen Tv.

“On September 1, 2007, I joined RMS as a political reporter. 5,660 days later, I announce my exit to take up another national assignment. I am grateful and humbled by the many experiences, lessons, and opportunities I have had in the industry,” Gachuri told his colleagues during an editorial meeting that was held on March 1, 2023.

“I have called this place home, when I came here, I was a young man, who did not even have a family then. All my major milestones have happened while I was here. Now I have two families, my wife and kids and as well as the RMS family that includes my colleagues, our viewers, listeners and readers.”
