Fuel prices drop: Kerosene by Sh2.40, diesel Sh2.20, petrol Sh1.95

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced fuel prices across the country in its latest review.

According to the new pricing guideline released by EPRA, the price of kerosene has dropped at the highest rate of Sh2.40 per litre followed by diesel at Sh2.20. The price of super petrol has dropped by Sh1.95 per litre.

“The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th April 2025 to 14th May 2025,” said EPRA in the review statement.

“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene increased by Sh1.95/litre, Sh2.20/litre and Sh2.40/litre respectively.”

Following this increase, super petrol, diesel, and kerosene will now retail at Sh174.63, diesel at Sh164.86, and kerosene at Sh148.99 respectively.

According to EPRA, the average landed cost of imported super petrol decreased by 4.89 per cent from US$637.22 per cubic metre in February 2025 to US$606.06 per cubic metre in March 2025.

Diesel decreased by 6.45 per cent from US$680.63 per cubic metre to US$636.75 per cubic metre while kerosene decreased by 6.53 per cent from US$672.14 per cubic metre to US$628.22 per cubic metre over the same period.
