Gideon Moi undergoes surgery after campaign fall

Politician and KANU party leader Gideon Moi was seen for the first time on September 6th  since the August 9th  elections wearing a cast on his arm.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka welcomed the former head of state’s son into his Karen residence after he had paid him an impromptu visit.

Kalonzo said that he was delighted to see the former Senator recovering steadily from his surgery and would soon be up and about.

Co-Op post

Gideon Moi allegedly fell during one of his campaign trails in Suswa. The injury that he sustained required him to undergo surgery.

Much had not been publicized about the surgery with reports first being revealed on 6th September.

“This afternoon Senator Gideon Moi paid me a courtesy call at my Nairobi residence. I’m glad to see that he is recuperating well after a fall during a campaign rally in Suswa that required surgery. My family and I wish him well and a quick recovery.” Kalonzo wrote on his social.

Gideon Moi lost the Baringo Senatorial race to UDA’s William Cheptumo. This is his first appearance after the elections.

His brother, Raymond Moi who was defending his MP Rongai seat lost the ticket to UDA’s Paul Chebor in the recently concluded elections last week.

This has seemingly marked an end to the Moi dynasty’s reign in the political scene for elective seats in the Rift Valley region, with William Ruto’s UDA Yellow wave sweeping across the area.

KANU party secretary general, Nick Salat also lost his bid to become the Bomet East MP, losing by nearly 20,000 votes to UDA’s Richard Yegon.
