Gladys Chania pens heartwarming tribute to deceased hubby, George Mwangi

Gladys Chania tribute

Gladys Chania, the wife of a Rwanda-based businessman who was murdered at his residence, has paid her tribute to her husband George Mwangi who was buried today in Mang’u.

The Kiambu politician has reportedly been on the front of burial arrangements for her dead husband, following her release from custody on Sh. 1 million bail. Mwangi was supposed to be buried on Friday, October 28th until his wife changed the date to Thursday, October 27th.

Gladys Chania was however not present for the burial today as family members took their seats beneath several tents erected for the burial ceremony. Her warm yet ‘cold’ tribute was read out by her sister, Judy Chania.

Why and how Gladys Chania murdered hubby in bedroom, dumped body in forest – DCI

Here is her farewell tribute:

From Wife,

My Husband,

It has been 24 years since the day we settled together on a Sunday 25th April 1998. We have grown from two to five. I thank God for the way your care and concern surrounded our family day in and day out.

Just like any other family, we have had our high and low moments but each day we held our love for each other by reminding ourselves of the far we have come.

For now that you have left us untimely, we shall try to fill in your shoes but it’s already difficult to fill them. Ryan already wonders that you will not see him go to university.

I promise to uphold all your wishes, more so to see the success of your children. Rest in Peace my love, the father to my children.

There was a heavy police presence at the businessman’s home with the media locked out of the close-knit burial.

In the cold-blooded murder that shocked the nation, police said blood-soaked bed sheets, curtains, and clothes were found hidden in a locked room adjacent to the master bedroom at the couple’s home in Mangu, Kiambu county.

DCI preliminary investigations earlier revealed that the deceased was killed in the family home and later dumped in the Kieni forest, over 20 kilometres away.

His body was found swathed in a polythene bag and covered under a heap of cartons.

A postmortem conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital revealed that Mwangi was hit several times at the back of his head.

The report also showed that his left-hand fingers had injuries believed to have been acquired during the gruesome murder.
