Gospel Singer Ambassada charged with handling Hapa Kule Fred Omondi's stolen iPad

Nairobi News: Gospel musician Ambassada was on Wednesday charged with possession of stolen property. The Kenyan-based Ugandan musician of the Watoto Inkane hit song was accused of having an iPad valued at Sh65,000 knowing that it was stolen.

He was jointly charged with another suspect Shadrack Musyoka, who is a member of gospel duo B4C (Born For Christ).

In the case, three other people are charged with violently robbing comedian Fred Omondi Owino of  Hapa Kule News TV program of household goods and personal documents at gunpoint.

Ambassada, whose real name is Wyclef Wamala, allegedly bought the iPad without knowing that it would land him in the dock.

The charge sheet stated that on February 10, 2015 he was found at Nkoroi ni Kajiado County with the stolen gadget, a charge he denied.

In the case, Evans Otieno Okongo and Michael Wandera were charged with violently robbing Mr Fred Omondi and four other residents of phones, cash and ATM cards on February 4.

The court heard that the suspects threatened to shoot Mr. Omondi during the incident. Another complainant, Sudi Mairua Mauti, was robbed of property valued at Sh12,000 at gunpoint, while Linda Mueni Titus was robbed of her Samsung phone valued at Sh5,000.

The court heard that the ipad Ambassada was found with is the property of Douglas Ogega who was robbed at gunpoint on February 4 at Nkoroi, Kajiado. Ambassada was released on a cash bail of Sh40,000, while Okondo was released on Sh750, 000 bond. The case will be heard on May 5.
