Kenyans seeking to migrate to the US will know their fate in the first week of May. This is after the US State Department confirmed that the results for the DV-2025 Diversity Visa also known as the Green Card Lottery will be accessible from Saturday, May 4, 2024.
To check the results, applicants will be required to key in their confirmation number, surname/family name, and year of birth.
Successful applicants will undergo a mandatory interview at the US consulate, and only those who pass their interview will be granted a US Visa.
The green card, also called a permanent resident card, is an identification document affirming a foreigner’s residency status in the US.

A cardholder is accorded all protection and rights under the US law, including the right to live and work in the US.
The application for the DV-2025 program began on October 4, 2023, and ended on November 7, 2023.
The program invites foreigners from various countries to apply to live and work in the US. All DV lottery registrations are completed online.
Kenya has one of the highest number of winners in the world. In the last program, about 3,760 Kenyans landed the opportunity to migrate to the US. This was out of the 22,185,619 individuals who submitted their entries.
Overall, 143,000 applicants from various countries in the world won the lottery, however, only 55,000 were issued with visas to the US.
