Hisense Products in Kenya: Chinese multinational major appliance and electronics manufacturer Hisense is now set to start selling quality electronics to Kenyans directly through a virtual mall. In a move that is expected to strengthen the manufacturer’s presence in Kenya, Hisense will now sell its products directly to buyers on Jumia Mall.
“Jumia has been our most strategic partner over the years, helping us reach more customers through their platform and marketing channels,” Hisense Head of Marketing Manish Bhami said. With its latest move, Hisense has also pledged to continue selling the latest innovations in technology, including affordable appliances and TVs to Kenyans at affordable prices and discounts.
This comes as a relief for many electronic buyers. This is because in the electronics industry, Hisense’s home appliances and electronics like refrigerators, LED TV sets, LCD TV sets, air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances and mobile android phones are some of the most sought after.
“Their products have been designed and created to ease consumer stress while providing durability and reliability. Their ability to last long is cash-saving factor that most buyers in Kenya are keen to observe,” says James Wambua, a home appliances, interior decor, and electronics reviewer based in Nairobi.
To buy Hisense goods online directly from the manufacturers, customers can download the Jumia app and log onto the jumia.co.ke platform where they will get a choice to buy from the manufacturer directly on Jumia Mall.

This allows customers to shop from the official suppliers if they choose to and help brands to differentiate their official suppliers from the wider marketplace. Jumia has over 80,000 sellers, and serves over 750 million consumers in the region through its marketplace platforms in 14 African countries. The company directly employs 5000 people (500 of which in Kenya), and is expected to contribute significantly towards the 3 million jobs that are expected from online marketplaces by 2025.
