The family of Kenya’s first president, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, led by former president Uhuru Kenyatta is known for investments spanning nearly every sector.
Throughout the years, the family has been considered one of the wealthiest, with multimillion investments in banking, dairy processing, insurance, media, real estate, and agriculture sectors, among others.
One of the sectors the family has heavily invested in is the hospitality sector. The family owns several high-end hotels that charge up to Sh50,000 per night.
They are operated under the Heritage Group of Hotels, which is currently run by Uhuru Kenyatta’s younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta. The hotel chain was previously run by renowned hotelier Mohamed Hersi who left in 2017.

This luxurious hotel is located in Naivasha and served as a favorite host for political retreats in Uhuru’s presidency days. One gets a chance to enjoy the spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley. It also has a golf resort with vacation opportunities for golfers.

Mara Explorer
This luxurious hotel sits on a broad, thickly forested bend of the Talek River in the very heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
This luxurious tented camp lies at the confluence of the Masai Mara’s four main game-viewing areas, giving customers prime views of the spectacular wildebeest migration between July and September.

Kipungani Explorer
The hotel, which is currently closed for renovation, is located on Lamu island at the edge of a 12km sandy beach in the coastal region.
It offers 13 spacious bandas that sit at one end of Kipungani Bay. Each banda has an ocean-facing veranda with local funzi sofas and chairs piled high with colorful cushions.
Samburu Intrepids
The lush oasis sits on the banks of the great Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu Game Reserve. The tented luxury camp is deliciously cooled by the river breeze and the forest.

It is located in Nyali, Mombasa. The resort is Kenya’s most popular and dynamic beach resort overlooking the sparkling white sands of Nyali Beach
It offers 236 spacious cabins with both garden and sea view options for travelers looking to enjoy and explore the liveliest location on Africa’s East Coast.
It charges from as low as Sh21,000 per night.
Mara Intrepids
It is located in the Maasai Mara. The camp offers some of the world’s finest game viewing, with large local populations of plains game, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, and all the Big Cats.
