Inside strange life of househelp Diana Naliaka who murdered Rahab Karisa

Diana Nalika has been identified as the househelp who is the prime suspect in the murder of Rahab Karisa, a Kilifi County senior official.

Prior to committing the murder, Diana Naliaka was not known by this name. She was widely called Sarah Nekesa Barasa. Although she went with this name, it has now been revealed that this was the name of her aunt.

Diana, who is said to be aged 21 years, has no national identity card. As such, she had used her aunt’s identity card to register for her mobile lines which she commonly used for communication and for conducting mobile transactions.

It has not been immediately known whether she had deceived the late Rahab Karisa that Sarah Nekesa was her real name or not.

Reports from detectives handling the case indicate that Diana may have arrived at Mtopanga in Kisauni in June 2022. She was employed by Ms. Achieng Agolla Biwott.

Ms. Biwott said that although Diana had introduced herself as Diana Wanyama, she had the identity card that suggested that she was Sarah Nekesa.

Asked why she had a different identity card, Diana had allegedly claimed that she did not have an ID card as she had dropped it at the police station after getting arrested for buying a stolen phone from someone else.

Ms. Biwott says that in the time Diana worked for her, items and money would often disappear at her house. Some would later be found in her bag.

Co-Op post

According to one report, a confrontation between the late Rahab Karisa and Diana may have started over missing money and aggravated to the point where Diana stabbed Karisa to death.

Diana was arraigned before Kilifi Senior Principal Magistrate Justus Kituku. She was detained for 14 days to pave way for investigations.
