The Ministry of Education has released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, marking a major milestone in the education calendar.
Speaking on Friday January 9 at Chepisaas Boys Secondary School in Uasin Gishu County, during the official release of the results, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba said 993,000 candidates sat the examinations, with girls accounting for 50 percent of the candidature.
Some 1,932 candidates attained grade A, while 270,000 scored C+ and above, qualifying them for direct entry to university.
How to Check 2025 KCSE results
Learners who sat the exam can now check their results either via SMS or online. For SMS services, learners can send their index number to 20076. Each sms costs Sh25.
The results are also accessible via the official KNEC portal at https://results.knec.ac.ke.
To access the results:
- Step 1: Visit the KNEC Results Portal.
- Step 2: Enter your Index Number and one of your names as per KCSE registration
- Step 3: Select the examination year (2025).
- Step 4: Click “Submit” to view and print your provisional results slip.
