Pitching a business idea to potential investors can be quite challenging at times. Angel investors are basically those investors who would like to inject capital in your startup and in return acquire some equity in the business.Pitching is all about confidence amongst other aspects which come in handy.
These are;
Heart Felt Pitch
Before going in front of the investors to pitch your business idea, first, have some knowledge of their expectations. This will act as a footbridge in executing a heartfelt pitch in line with what they really desire business wise. You should be able to toil and capture their feelings by passionately describing to them the clear picture of what they have been missing. By doing this, you will show promise and am sure you will come out of that den all smiles.
Make the Pitch Simple and precise
Something that is too long tends to be boring. I am not trying to entirely dish away those long pitches but let’s just face it, a simple and precise pitch will easily catch the attention of investors as compared to longer ones. Entrepreneur A can come up with a simple pitch which has little sauce but much fries while entrepreneur B can come with too much sauce but a little fries – the fries are the business dynamics while the sauce is an unnecessary pointer while pitching. So just be that entrepreneur satisfying his hunger to impress the investors.
Willingness to be a team player
As a business person, you cannot easily run your business on your own without teamwork. You might still be a business amateur but I can assure you, you might never get far working single-handedly. You don’t want to scare away the investor by telling them you don’t value teamwork. After all, they will be your business partners.
Leave them in suspense
Suspense always triggers that urge of wanting to know how things will eventually turn out. If you are a big fun of television series then you definitely know what I’m talking about. You should have a catchy exit plan in your pitch which will leave the investors I tenterhooks. This will make them invest in your company because they will be like “we just have to see how far this will go”.
Try this in your next business pitch to Angel Investors and you never know, your startup might turn out to be next ‘Google’.
