I&M Shinda Millioni campaign nears end; how to participate and win millions

The I&M Bank Shinda Millioni campaign is set to end on November 12, 2025, marking 3 months of thorough customer engagement and appreciation.

The campaign which kicked off on August 12, 2025 aims to promote financial discipline while showing appreciation to loyal customers, including small businesses and individual consumers transacting via the I&M mobile app.

How it works

Customers earn entries by performing normal banking activities such as opening accounts, transacting via the I&M App, or using I&M debit and credit cards.

From each action, a customer stands a chance to become a millionaire, with weekly, monthly, and grand draws offering cash prizes worth millions of shillings. What makes Shinda Millioni especially appealing is its simplicity. Every transaction, whether it’s a funds transfer, bill payment, or mobile deposit, automatically earns customers a chance to win.

For instance, for every Sh2,000 average cleared balance maintained in a customer’s account, they will earn one entry point into the weekly and monthly draws. The more customers bank, the greater their chances of becoming millionaires.

In the three-month period, I&M targets to award 10 customers with Sh50,000 each weekly and one grand prize winner monthly, receiving Sh1,000,000.

How to participate

The Shinda Millioni campaign is open to all existing and new I&M customers. To get started, customers are advised to download the I&M OTG App or visit a branch to open.

The lender offers various accounts that customers can open and transact with. They include I&M Club Account, PayGo Account, Agri-PayGo Account and SoloBiz Account.

After opening an account of your choice, deposit funds regularly using M-PESA Paybill 542542, Airtel Money, bank transfers, or in-branch deposits.

For every Sh2,000 average balance, a customer earns 1 point (Capped at 500 points per draw). I&M says that customers must maintain at least Sh2,000 in their account per draw period to qualify for rewards.

Existing customers must ensure their accounts are active and deposit funds regularly through their preferred method.

Broader implications for financial inclusion

Though framed as a promotional campaign, Shinda Millioni holds broader significance for Kenya’s financial-inclusion agenda.

By encouraging regular deposits from everyday users, the bank is contributing to a culture of formal savings and account activation, rather than informal cash-held practices.

Dorcas Wanga a poultry farmer in Mumias made history by winning Sh1 million within weeks of opening a Solo Biz account at I&M’s Kakamega branch. With only Sh50 deposit, Wanga became the initiative’s first millionaire winner. She plans to use the money to expand her poultry business.

“I see myself as a large farmer and a large land owner in the next five years. I advise all small business owners to deposit more and win more,” she said.

The campaign which aligns with I&M strategic goals highlights how banks can move beyond product sales toward behavioural influence in the highly competitive financial-services space.

It is also a call to customers to view their bank account not just as a place to hold money, but as a tool for generating opportunity whether through growth of savings, reinvestment in business, or long-term capital accumulation.
