Luckiest job seeker ever? Igathe lands new lucrative job in South Africa

Polycarp Igathe must be Kenya’s luckiest job seeker in history. Months after losing his bid to become the Governor of Nairobi, Igathe had landed a new job.

Starting from December 1 2022, Igathe will join Johannesburg based Tiger Brands as the Chief Growth Officer – Rest of Africa.

Igathe lost the Nairobi gubernatorial election to the then Senator Johnson Sakaja in the election that was held together with Kenya’s General Elections on August 9, 2022.

Prior to contesting for this position, Igathe had been working at Equity Bank where he held the position of Group Chief Commercial Officer.

Igathe rejoined Equity from Vivo where he had gone in 2019 after leaving his position at Equity as Equity Bank Kenya Managing Director.

In 2016, Igathe worked at Vivo as the Managing Director before he quit to join politics. He contested in Nairobi as the deputy governor to politician Mike Sonko. The duo won in the elections. However, Igathe quit months later and secured a job at Equity Bank.

I am done with Raila; will never support him again, vows Oparanya

Previously, Igathe served as the Managing Director at Haco Industries which was owned by the late Chris Kirubi.
