Inflation falls to 5 per cent in May

The cost of living continued to fall in the month of May. The rate of inflation dropped to 5 per cent from the 5.27 per cent recorded in the month of April. In the month of March, the cost of living stood at 6.45 per cent.

The drop in inflation came within the Central Bank of Kenya’s (CBK) preferred cost of living range of 2.5 per and 7.5 per cent.

Interestingly, this was the fifth month in a row that the cost of living was dropping, adding a stellar performance to the economic gains being reaped from CBK Governor’s Patrick Njoroge’s tenure.
