Infotrak reveals TV, radio stations most preferred by Kenyans

Radio Citizen is the most preferred radio station in Kenya, a new report by Infotrak shows.

The Royal Media Services-owned station topped in the category of top-of-mind awareness with 16 percent followed closely by Radio Jambo with 15 percent.

Classic 105 claimed third position with a rating of 10 percent followed by Radio 47, Radio Maisha and Kameme FM.

Others are Inooro FM, Milele FM, Ramogi FM, Musyi FM, Kass FM, Chamgei FM, Mulembe FM, Capital FM, Kiss 100, Egesa FM, Vuuka FM and Bahari FM.

According to Infotrak, the Nyanza region has the highest radio audience at 79 percent, closely followed by the Rift Valley and Western at 77 percent.

The survey reveals that the love for radio knows no gender, with male listenership at a solid 72 percent and females at a close 71 percent.

On the TV side, Citizen TV remains the king of Kenyan television after garnering 82 percent top-of-mind awareness and 81 percent current viewership.

Inooro TV, NTV, and KTN also boast significant numbers, with TV47 emerging as a strong contender with a 25 percent spontaneous awareness.

Nairobi recorded the highest TV viewership in the country standing at 91 percent followed by Coast and North Eastern with 87 percent.
