Top Kikuyu news presenter Muthoni wa Mukiri quits Inooro Tv

Since Royal Media Services launched Inooro Tv about five years ago, its top news presenters have been the duo of Ken Wakuraya and Muthoni wa Mukiri. But now, the television station that is currently standing shoulder to shoulder with leading English television stations such as Citizen, NTV, and KTN will now have to find a replacement.

The replacement will be for Muthoni, who has quit the station. The high flying news anchor at Royal Media Services‘ made the announcement on her Facebook page.

This is what she said about her resignation: “Its been an amazing five years but my journey at Inooro TV has come to an end. I want to thank you my fans, my supporters, my friends and everyone who has supported me during that journey. I will miss you dearly. God bless you all. I believe when one door closes another one opens.

Her departure from Inooro has been interpreted as switch after the presenter said that she’d be announcing her next station soon. It now remains to be seen if the presenter will opt for another vernacular station or will make a full switch to English broadcasting.

A move to the Inooro Tv’s rival Kameme Tv would be seen as step down, given that Inooro Tv is currently ranked as the leading vernacular television station and among the top Tv stations in Kenya ahead of K24, KBC, and KTN News.
