In the Education sector, the family is associated with Peponi School, one of the most expensive learning institutions in the country.
Founded in 1989, Peponi School sits at the Kenyatta family-owned Northlands City in Ruiru. The School follows the British curriculum, offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Years 10 and 11, followed by AS and A-Level qualifications in Years 12 and 13.
The curriculum includes a wide range, including Mathematics, English, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Humanities (History, Geography), Languages (French, Spanish, Kiswahili), and electives like Art, Music, Drama, and Design Technology.
Peponi School is ranked as one of the most expensive schools, with its fees estimated to be over Sh1 million per term and over Sh3 million per year.

According to its September 2025 fee structure, the school is charging Sh976,370 per term for day scholars, and Sh1,373,495 for weekly boarders in years 9-13.
At the same time, parents with full boarders in years 9-13 will part ways with Sh1,453,870 per term.
With three terms per year, parents part with over Sh4.3 million for full boarders, Sh4.1 million for weekly boarders, and Sh2.9 million for day scholars.
Admission to the institutions requires an application Fee of Sh15,000, a registration Fee of Sh7,500, and a Caution Deposit of Sh700,000. Additional fees may apply for music, exams, coaching, and optional activities.
The School requires the Fees to be paid on or before the first day of each term. Fees not paid within 14 days of that incur an automatic 3 percent per month cumulative surcharge.
The school has produced notable alumni, among them former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s youngest son, Muhoho, and Royal Media Services MD Wachira Waruru’s son, Waruru.
