Michael Olunga has never been shy about showing off his estate on social media, demonstrating the pride he takes in his home and the investments he has made.

Alongside his magnificent home, Olunga also possesses numerous high-end vehicles. He has been seen driving a luxurious Porsche Panamera, which can cost up to Sh 20 million depending on customisation, as well as a Toyota Landcruiser 11 V8 executive that costs over Sh 10 million.

Olunga is also involved in running a local sports mentorship foundation known as the Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA).

The foundation has been actively seeking to partner with Kisumu Day on sports mentorship programs. MOFA, which is located in Olunga’s hometown of Othoro, provides training and support for talented young athletes ranging from the ages of U10 to U18.

Michael Olunga is extremely wealthy

Olunga who is 28 years old earns a weekly salary of Sh7.5 million, making him the second highest-paid footballer in Kenya.

Olunga first gained attention while playing for the renowned Kenyan football club Gor Mahia and his accomplishments there led to his signing with the Swedish team Djugardens in 2016.

After playing for Djugardens for just one season, during which he made 27 appearances and scored 12 goals, the former Gor Mahia forward was signed by Chinese team Ghuizhou Zhicheng.

However, his time there was brief, as he only played in 9 matches and scored 2 goals before being loaned to Girona FC, a Spanish team.

At Girona FC, he made 14 appearances and scored 3 goals. In 2018, Ghuizhou Zhicheng sold Olunga to Kashiwa Reysol for an undisclosed amount. The footballer’s success continued in Japan, where he scored an impressive 58 goals in 72 appearances.

His remarkable ability to score goals resulted in him receiving the Golden Boot Award in the J1 League in 2020. His impressive performances did not go unnoticed, and he caught the attention of Qatari club Al-Duhail, who paid almost one billion shillings to acquire him.

In January 2021, Olunga signed a three-season contract with Al-Duhail, reportedly for a transfer fee of Sh896 million. As per his new contract, it is said that Al-Duhail is paying him twice the amount he used to earn at Kashiwa Reysol in Japan, where he made Sh15 million a month.

Therefore, he now earns Sh30 million a month or Sh7.5 million a week at Al-Duhail.

The only footballer who earns more than Olunga is Victor Wanyama, who currently plays for Montreal Impact in Canada, and earns Sh9.3 million per week or Sh62,000 per day.
