Popular Swahili news anchor Jane Ngoiri quits NTV

Popular Swahili NTV News anchor Jane Ngoiri has left NTV. Ms. Ngoiri announced that she left the station on Wednesday January 28. 

“It is true that I have resigned from NTV. I left for personal reasons,” she told a local media channel.

Although she did not divulge the reasons for quitting, Ms. Ngoiri said that she left for personal reasons and will now be focusing on personal projects.

She also announced that she would disclose her next step to her fans over her social media channels.

Salaried workers in Kenya to start earning less pay from this month

Ms. Ngoiri’s career has been on the rise over the last few years. In December 2020, she was among 158 Kenyans who were awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSc) by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

When she first joined NTV, Ngoiri co-anchored the Swahili news programme with Nimrod Taabu. She later started to co-anchor the Swahili news with Salim Swaleh after the departure of Taabu who joined Citizen Tv.

Although she is popularly known as a Swahili anchor, Ms. Ngoiri started out as an English news anchor at K24.

Some of her works have included the investigative television features Sisters of Death and Nairobi’s Bum Enhancers.
