On the same day that Diana Chepkemoi arrived from the dreaded Saudi Arabia, tens of Kenya  girls were spotted at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) waiting to fly out to the same Saudi.

In a photo that was captured by the Standard Media Group, the girls could be seen in white shirts that had the logo of their agency.

The case of Diana Chepkemoi threw spotlight on the life that Kenyan girls working in Saudi Arabia are subjected to.

“I left Kenya to go to Saudi Arabia with the hopes of getting a better life and to be honest, mine was just a tip on the iceberg, people are suffering there,” she said.

She pointed out that many Kenyan girls are deceived that they will not be subjected to suffering when they live Kenya, only to end up in the arms of sexual predators and abusers.

The government of Kenya has however said that there is nothing it can do because it has warned Kenyans not to go to Saudi Arabia countless times.

“We have told Kenyans repeatedly to stop sending this category of workers to Saudi. You’ve chosen not to listen,” Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Macharia Kamau said.
