John Kiarie beats Dennis Waweru in Dagoretti South

John Kiarie has won the Dagoretti South parliamentary seat.

This is after the former comedian turned politician bagged 26,394 votes. His closest rival was Dennis Waweru who was contesting under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.

Waweru managed to garner 22, 773 votes. Kiarie was contesting under the UDA party whose leader is deputy president William Ruto.

Kiarie first won the seat in 2017 after defeating Waweru.

Earlier on Thursday, Waweru’s supporters had stormed the PC Kinyanjui Technical hall, protesting the election results.
