Josphat Mose: Dropping Out of School Did Not Stop Me From Becoming a CEO

Josphat Mose’s rise from poverty to founding Josngare Security Services is an inspiration to millions of people around the world, who are struggling to overcome their own personal battles and reach their goals.

The 29-year-old was born into a modest family and has worked incredibly hard to reach this stage. His childhood was marked with hardships after his mother suffered epilepsy leaving him under the care of his siblings.

After his mother succumbed to the illness in 2004, Mose was taken to a children’s home in Nakuru, where he spent three years before his uncle adopted him and enrolled him in Kayole One Primary School.

However, things were far from easy for Mose as his uncle’s wife mistreated him. He bore with the brut life for three years and eventually escaped to his sister’s house in search of a better life.

It was not long before his uncle tracked him down and secured a job for him as a security guard at East Riverside Drive Estate Mihango, where he worked for four years until 2018, when his contract expired.

Mose’s future was looking bleak, and the prospect of success seemed to be a long shot, but he didn’t ever stop trying. He approached residents of East Riverside Drive Estate Mihango and convinced them of his capabilities to register his own security services company.

“I started with two guards, one for night shift and another one for day time. I was one of them, and I worked the night shift, and during the day, I would market my company,’’ he said.

Josngare Security Services has since expanded to a big firm with about 85 employees. The class 6 dropout firmly believes that working hard is the only secret to becoming rich.

After the stars aligned for him, he never went back to school but instead indulged in mentorship programs focusing on business matters.

“In life, believe you can make it even without education. Ask yourself what you are good at. I never said to myself that I would be a guard forever,’’ he advised.
