Kathryne Maundu lands top NCBA job weeks after quitting Safaricom

Weeks after quitting Safaricom, Kathryne Maundu had landed a top job at the NCBA Bank Group. Ms Kathryne Maundu has been named as the new company secretary for the NCBA Group.

Her appointment to the position was announced by the NCBA Group chief executive officer John Gachora.

“It gives me great pleasure to officially welcome Kathryne Maundu who joins as the group company secretary, subject to regulatory approvals,” said Gachora.

Ms Maundu is now awaiting formal regulatory approval to assume her new position.

She left her position at Safaricom on September 20. Weeks later, she announced that she was leaving her roles as company secretary  for the East African Breweries PLC, BAT Kenya and Eaagads Limited. She left these three companies on October 23.

She had joined the Safaricom board of directors as the company secretary in February 2016. Four years later in March 2020, she joined East African Breweries.

Three months later in June 2020, she joined BAT (British American Tobacco). Earlier on in 2019, she was the company secretary for the Eaagads board.

Ms Maundu boasts of an impressive corporate resume. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

She is also a certified public secretary and is an accredited governance auditor with the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya.

Previously, Kathryne Maundu has worked as a partner at the Stamford Corporate Services LLP. This is a firm that offers the services of an outsourced company secretary to corporates in various sectors.

She has also previously worked with Deloitte. She started off at Deloitte as an associate in the year 2004. She then rose to the positions of consultant, assistant manager, eventually occupied the position if manager. She quit Deloitte after nine years.

At the time, she held the position of senior manager. She left Deloitte to become a partner at Stamford.
