Mr. Joshua Oigara is the current chief executive officer of the largest bank in Kenya by assets, KCB. Mr. Oigara has served as Group Chief Executive Officer, Director of Kenya Commercial Bank Limited since January 1, 2013. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of the Company between January 12, 2012 and January 2013.
He also serves as Group Chief Financial Officer at KCB Bank Group for East Africa. He joined the Bank in November 2011 from Bamburi Cement Ltd where he served as Executive Director and Group Financial Director and Chief Financial Officer for the East Africa region.
During his professional career, he was also Group Controller, Finance at Bamburi Cement Group for East Africa, a function he held between 2006 and 2008. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Manager, Business Performance at Hima Cement Ltd, a function he assumed after his service at Bidco Oil Ltd as Group Business Performance Manager for the period between 2002 and 2003.
From 1999 to 2001, he was Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya. In 1997, he became Associate of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya, a post he held until 1998. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a title he obtained from the School of Accountancy, the Strathmore University, Kenya in 1997 and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
He obtained a Masters of Business Administration degree in International Business Management from the Edith Cowan University in Australia in 2011. He also completed the Advanced Management Program from INSEAD or Institut Europeen d’Administration des Affaires, France in 2010.
He completed the Program for Management Development at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina, the United States in 2006. Prior to this, he received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting Option from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, in 1997.
