Former Microsoft Kenya boss Kendi Ntwiga has been appointed as the Global Head of Misrepresentation for Meta, the company that owns social media channels Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Her appointment came into effect in May 2022. Ms. Ntwiga will be based in Ireland. She will work to push for operational protocols to scale Meta’s enforcement of community standards.
Ms. Ntwiga will work alongside cross-functional teams in Engineering and Product Development, not to mention teams within Global Operations to drive protocols and other operations related to her new role.
Prior to joining Meta Ntwiga has served at Microsoft. She has also served as the General Manager of the East, West and Central Africa Cluster for Check Point Software. Ms. Nderitu’s extensive resume includes roles at Oracle, HP and Intel, where she was tasked with leading and implementing business strategies across sub-Saharan Africa.
She has been recognized as an Emerging Leader in Innovation and Entrepreneurship by the US government through the TechWomen program.

Ms. Ntwiga is also the founder of She-Goes-Tech, an initiative created with the purpose of mentoring young girls and women who are pursuing STEM careers. She has also led gender inclusion discussions across different forums, including the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
