Kenya Airways has stopped offering Nairobi-Eldoret flights. This is nearly two years after the national carrier resumed the route. The airline last operated the route in late December 2025. This placed the duration of the time that the airline operated the route at 21 months.
When you try to book a flight from the Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) to Eldoret (Eldoret International Airport) through the official Kenya Airways booking site, the airline states that it is not able to recommend flights to Eldoret.
This is usually the message that is usually displayed on the KQ booking portal when the airline stops flying a specific route.
According to sources who spoke with the media, the national carrier has opted to drop the route, leaving its low-budget subsidiary Jambojet to operate Nairobi-Eldoret flights.
“Kenya Airways continues to ser the route through Jambojet which is wholly owned by KQ, supporting network optimization while maintaining connectivity,” the source told local business newspaper, Business Daily.
The exit of Kenya Airways has now left the route to two airlines, Jambojet and Skyward. KQ had resumed the flights to Eldoret on Monday, March 25, 2024. The flights cost around Sh8,700 for a one way ticket while return flights cost around Sh15,000.
The airline had resumed with five flights per week that mostly featured its Embraer 190 aircrafts.
“Our renewed focus on the domestic market reaffirms Kenya Airways’ pivotal role in advancing Africa’s economic prosperity. By connecting Eldoret to our extensive network, we aim to stimulate growth and foster lasting socio-economic development in the region,” immediate former chief executive officer Allan Kilavuka had said.
