A nationwide power outage was reported on Friday across many parts of the country.
The power outage occurred close to 10pm and was acknowledged by Kenya Power a few minutes after 10pm.
According to the power utility firm, only parts of North Rift and Western region were not affected by the outage.
“We have lost power supply to various parts of the country except North Rift region and sections of Western region,” the power utility firm said in a statement.
It was not immediately clear what had caused the loss, with Kenya Power saying that a solution was being sought to rectify the problem.
