Milton Isalano, a Kenyan chef, is one of the proud Kenyans in the diaspora after having secured a job in some of the top hotels and football clubs in the UK.

Isalano, who works at Manchester United as a senior chef, revealed that he started working at the English Premier League club in 2005.

“I am a Kenyan former Pioneer Senior Chef at the Windsor Golf and country club in Nairobi from 1991 to 2002 before I moved to the United Kingdom as a chef. I have been working at Manchester United as a Senior chef since 2005 to date,” he said.

The top chef moved to the UK to advance his hospitality studies after successfully completing short Chefs courses at Kenya Utalii College and Kenya Polytechnic.

He holds a Chef’s Diploma from Lancaster and Morecambe College and a BA in Hospitality Management from Salford University.

Besides his Manchester United job, Isalano has also served in some of the top 5-star hotels, among them the Gotham Hotel, interacting with highly profiled individuals in the world, among them English TV personality Simon Cowell.

“From 2010-2014, I was the Head Chef of V.I.P Escape Lounges Manchester Airport in terminals one, two, and three. Any time the first Manchester United team and Manchester City football teams flew out of the country, I served them in the lounges before they boarded the plane,” he stated.

According to him, Manchester United has 26 kitchens, and on a single match day, they need 120 chefs.

During the recently concluded networking meeting between Kenyans living in the UK, the Kenyan High Commissioner to the UK, Manoah Esipisu, took to social media to congratulate Isalano for his remarkable achievement.
