Don’t return to Kenya; there are no jobs, Mutua tells Kenyans in South Korea

A few days ago, the Cabinet Secretary for Trade Moses Kuria alluded that living in Kenya should be added to the list of 1,000 ways to die!  Kuria claimed that by virtue of being Kenyan and living in Kenya, everyone in this country was a prime candidate for death.

Now, even before the dust has settled, another top cabinet secretary has made a statement on how dire things are in Kenya. Foreign Affairs cabinet secretary Alfred Mutua has asked Kenyans living in South Korea not to return to Kenya.

According to Mutua, there are no jobs for these Kenyans to come and take up. Mutua said that these Kenyans are better off living in South Korea.

“Why would you leave Korea with a good job to come to Kenya? The economy of Kenya is on a slowdown, there is hardly any employment in Kenya,” said Mutua. “We are seeking to have more Kenyans come and do senior jobs here in South Korea.”

Mutua made these remarks during president William Ruto’s tour of South Korea where the president held a meeting with Kenyans living in that country.

He further intimated that Kenya was negotiating with South Korea to have more Kenyans migrate to South Korea for work. “We are seeking to have more Kenyans come and do senior jobs here in South Korea,” claimed Mutua.
