Kitengela Apartments: A landlord from Kitengela is lamenting that four years after he built an apartment, he is yet to attract tenants. The landlord who was identified as David Ndolo said that he invested his pension savings to set up the multi-million building.
He completed the building six years ago. The building has 5 bedsitters and 19 two-bedroom houses which was estimated to earn him Sh. 250,000 every month. Today, though, he has lost more than Sh. 10 million in rent.
“I have watched helplessly as my retirement investment crumbles,” he lamented.
Ndolo said that his tenants started to flee due to sewer water that was suspected to be coming from an adjacent building linked to a retired government official. Apparently, over 200 tenants occupied the adjacent building and sewer water started seeping into his apartments.
