Suppose many had the chance to start over and return to school, they’d likely choose one that offers both enjoyable academic experiences and quality learning. So many schools from Nairobi and its environs seek to emulate this description.
Modern schools nowadays have focused on giving their learners experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. The days of students grumbling about walking to school without shoes to and from school are long gone. Now, kids are catching flights.
One such is the Kivulini school located in Kirangari-Gikuni, in Lower Kabete. Their recent educational trip for the Grade 7 Champions was a textbook childhood dream.
The school went all out, booking a flight to take the students on a holiday adventure to Mombasa. On August 15th, the plane touched down at the Moi International Airport in Malindi and the students began their 5-day academic trip.
Among the places visited was Fort Jesus. Learning history while standing at the exact place it happened seems like a more fulfilling lesson compared to flipping through pages of a history book.
The Champions were amazed by the ancient fortress’s beauty and rich history, with some visiting it for the very first time. Arguably, some made a mental note to revisit the place again, not as students but rather as Kenyan tourists.
The students then enjoyed a Likoni ferry ride, taking in views of the Indian Ocean and the refreshing sea breeze. The trip was designed to be more than just an ordinary school outing as it incorporated fun with engaging learning activities.
They also toured the iconic Mombasa Tusks and later on, Wild Waters, Kenya’s largest water park. Slides, pools, laughter and food, were the order of the day asserting that these were childhood dreams into reality from an educational standpoint.
They also checked out Haller Park for some wildlife sightseeing. The 7th Graders said the whole trip was unforgettable and the camaraderie created was absolutely priceless.
Nairobi school asks parents to pay Sh. 560,000 for 9-day trip to London, Paris
For many students, this was their first flight, and it made a lasting impression. These are the kinds of memories that stick for life. The learners will treasure both the experiences and the friendships they made.
Kivulini knows how to make education enjoyable. They have their 2025 intake interviews set for November 8th and 9th at 9:00 a.m.
The charges are Sh. 1500 for those looking to enrol in the Early Years School, Lower School (Grade 1 – Grade 3), Upper School (Grade 4 – Grade 6) and/or Junior School (Grade 7 – Grade 9).
