Kenya Airways announces plan for new flight routes to Eldoret, Mozambique

Kenya Airways (KQ) has unveiled its plans to launch flights from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Eldoret International Airport. The national carrier will also be operating in Mozambique.

The airline’s management noted that these decisions are part of its strategies to improve its network frequencies. The move is a game-changer for KQ customers living in Western Kenya and neighbouring counties.

The carrier’s Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu explained that they had received many requests from customers to expand their services to Uasin Gishu.

KQ will be flying to Eldoret five times a week; on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The maiden trip to Eldoret Airport by a KQ Airplane will be commissioned on March 25th, 2024.

“Our focus for FY2024 will be to continue with strategic and targeted growth to meet growing demand as the airline targets bottom line revenue growth. The network expansion is reflective of our mission of propelling Africa’s growth by connecting its people cultures and markets,” Mr Thairu noted.

On the same date, Kenya Airways (KQ) will also introduce flights to Maputo, Mozambique. The airline will operate these flights three times a week; on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
