Kenya Airways has suspended a number of its senior staff over pilfering of funds. This follows a report presented to KQ by audit firm Deloitte Consulting.
The six employees were apparently found to have taken advantage of system and internal control weaknesses to financially benefit themselves.
Deloitte is also interrogating governance weaknesses in the airline and the prudence of its capital expenditure decisions since 2011, including the ambitious but ill-fated Project Mawingu fleet expansion plan.
