The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of the application portal for students seeking admission into Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) programmes.
In an update on Wednesday, October 1, KUCCPS invited learners seeking admission to KMTC to submit their applications. The application period runs from October 1 to October 14, 2025.
The placement covers a wide range of programmes, including certificate and diploma programs.
The certificate programs available on the portal include Medical Engineering, Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine, Health Records and Information Technology, Emergency Medical Technician, Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, Community Health Assistant, and Health Insurance Management.
Diploma programmes available include Mortuary Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, Community Health, Radiography and Imaging, Public Health, Medical Social Work, Nutrition and Dietetics.
Others include Occupational Therapy, Health Counselling, Medical Engineering, Pharmacy, Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopaedic Technology, Speech and Language Therapy, and Health Promotion.
Requirements
Candidates applying for a Certificate course must have a minimum of a C- with specific qualifications in cluster subjects in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE).
For Diploma programmes, applicants must have attained a minimum of C with specific qualifications in cluster subjects.
TSC: Secondary schools principals, deputies must have Master’s degree
On the other hand, applicants seeking to upgrade courses must have a certificate or a diploma in the respective fields.
How to apply
- To access the Student Portal, visit the KUCCPS student portal using this link: students.kuccps.net
- Click on the “Login” tab and enter your KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password.
- Once logged in, click on “KMTC Programmes” to view all available courses and their minimum entry requirements.
Applicants will only be able to apply for courses where they meet the minimum requirements. - After reviewing the options, decide on your preferred courses and note their Programme Codes.
- Start Application by clicking on the “KMTC Application” tab, then select “Apply Now.”
- Input the Programme Codes in the form provided, arranging them in your order of priority from your most preferred course (No. 1) to your least preferred course (No. 4).
- After entering all your preferred Programme Codes, wait for the system to fetch the programme details before clicking Submit.
- After submission, you will be required to pay Sh1,500. The portal will then display the payment instructions.
