The Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) has released universities and TVET placement results for learners who sat the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

The report released on Tuesday, May 21 indicates that 134,743 students were placed in public universities, while 18,000 learners were placed in private universities to pursue various degree programmes.

KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome noted that more male students who sat the 2023 KCSE applied for degree courses at the universities while their female counterparts opted for the TVET institutions.

“85 percent of 2023 KCSE candidates with C+ and above made applications where 76.2 percent opted for Degree courses while the rest opted for Diploma (11,991),’’ she said.

In terms of preferred courses, the Bachelor of Education attracted the highest number of applicants.

Candidates who wish to know the higher institutions of learning they have been placed in are advised to log into their KUCCPS student portal.

“KUCCPS congratulates all the applicants whose placement report has been released today. Log in to http://students.kuccps.net to check the details of your university or college placement,” the placement service said.

Once logged in, the learners will be required to key in their KCSE index number, the year they sat the national exam and enter their password.

Learners can use their birth certificate numbers or their KCPE index number as used in KCSE exam registration as their password to log into the portal.

Once the details are correctly submitted, learners will be able to see the university they have secured placement in as well as the courses they have been selected to undertake.

The process is free of charge, all one needs is a good internet connection.
