Former Nation FM presenter Lorna Irungu dies from Covid-19

Veteran media presenter and Public Relations practitioner Lorna Irungu has died. Ms. Irungu, who was the managing director at PR firm Gina Din Group died on Monday from Covid-19.

Lorna rose to fame as a presenter in the Omo Pick a Box game show which aired on KBC.

She later hosted Club Kiboko on KTN between 1994 and 1999, while also producing a magazine show Maisha and the youth dialogue show dubbed Niaje. She also hosted State of The Nation at the then Nation FM.

Lorna has been a Lupus survivor for over 20 years and had undergone several kidney transplants. The celebrated media personality has left behind a husband and a daughter. Last week, the media industry lost two celebrated personalities, radio news presenter and news manager Robin Njogu and former NTV news anchor Winnie Mukami who succumbed to Covid-19.

“I pray for comfort and peace for Lorna’s family coz man, I can’t even start to imagine. Those who have known and worked with Lorna, whether in the media or public communications, know how much of a loss this is. So loving and always in pursuit of excellence,” Oliver Mathenge, an editor at The Star newspaper commented.
